The Affordable Care Act: Fact vs. Myth

The signing of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) into law in 2010 represented the most sweeping, transformative change to our health care and tax systems in recent memory.

With one Act, the government declared its stake in the business of ensuring that every American has access to reliable, affordable care. Whether the ACA is capable of realizing that promise has been the source of endless debate but, regardless of perception, it’s the current law and what 2016 and 2017 noncompliance fines will be calculated against.

With sweeping change comes sweeping confusion as both employers and employees struggle to revise their understanding of American health care to digest a more consumer-driven direction. As responsibility shifts into the hands of underprepared consumers, it’s imperative for employers to understand and dispel common myths associated with the ACA and help employees take control of their own health care spending.

This e-book is a step in that direction. It’s only through understanding of the ACA and its implications that we can begin to realize its full potential.
