The 2020 Broker: Drive Savings Through Better Employee Benefits Understanding

Health care literacy continues to be a challenge for American workers, with over one-third of adults—77 million people—having difficulty with common health tasks, such as following directions on a prescription drug label or adhering to a childhood immunization schedule using a standard chart. In addition, only 34 percent of employees who rate their employer’s benefits communications as ineffective are loyal to their employer, as compared to 74 percent of those who rate their benefits
communications as effective.

85% of brokers said they have clients who are struggling with employee satisfaction and perceived value around their benefits plans.

The survey focused on what services they are currently offering, which services are delivering the most business value and how their models are likely to evolve to help them compete in the months and years ahead.
